Did you know that Parramatta Park is home to a colony of Grey-headed Flying Foxes? You may have seen them soaring over your house at dusk!  

Join us for an evening of bat-tastic fun as our expert guides share fascinating insights into these remarkable nocturnal mammals. 

Enjoy hands-on bat crafts and take part in a unique citizen science experience, collecting data as the colony embarks on its spectacular evening flyout. As they set off in search of fruit and nectar, you'll witness firsthand their vital role in pollination and seed dispersal—essential for a thriving ecosystem. 

Don't miss this chance to learn, create, and marvel at the magic of flying foxes! 

Families are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the park before the program begins.

Things to know before you attend 

Please come prepared, as this program will go ahead in all-weather unless it is unsafe to do so (for example, during high winds or thunderstorms). All participants must wear enclosed shoes.    

Adults attend this program with children aged 5 – 15 years.
