Old Government House

A UNESCO World Heritage Site

A historic government house surrounded by vibrant trees and grassy areas, showcasing its charming and tranquil setting.

Old Government House is the oldest surviving public building in Australia and one of the 11 Australian convict sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Register.

The building played a significant administrative role during the convict era. It was also the ‘country residence’ of the first 10 governors of New South Wales.

Today, this elegant Georgian house in the heart of Parramatta Park is open to the public as a museum. The National Trust of Australia (NSW) manages it.

Use the Pitt Street entrance when visiting Old Government House.
