Shale Hills Dog Park
Shale Hills Dog Park offers 5 hectares of open space with agility facilities and two dog areas.

Shale Hills Dog Park is Western Sydney Parkland's largest off-leash dog area, featuring 5-hectares of open space with state-of-the-art dog agility and self-guided training facilities and two separate dog areas.
Designed especially for dogs and their humans, the dog park features:
- Training circuit with 10 x activity stations
- Agility course featuring tunnel, balance beams, rest boxes and weave poles
- Free run area
- Terrace with dog rest areas, umbrellas for shade and shelter plus sweeping views of the Parklands Cumberland Plain bushland corridor
- Scented garden with lavender, thyme, chamomile and mint
- Fresh water fountains
- Shaded areas
General information
Shale Hills Dog Park is open to pedestrians 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Vehicle access is from 6 am - 6 pm (8 pm in daylight savings).
Dog litter bags are provided at bins and owners are required to clean up after their pets.
Dogs that are a registered breed and have been declared dangerous are prohibited from the off-leash area and the rest of the park.
Dogs that are in season ('on heat') are prohibited from the dog park and should not be in the general park either.
Dogs MUST be on leash prior to entering and upon leaving the off-leash area.
To ensure the off-leash area remains a safe and fun environment for the community all dogs must be kept supervised and under control by a competent person over 16 years of age. Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Directions
The entrance is on the intersection of Second and Mannow Avenues, West Hoxton.
There is a 70-space car park, which is free to park in marked bays. There are 2 permanent accessible car spots available to mobility parking permit holders. Any person displaying a mobility parking permit can park in any bay for an unlimited period.
Toilets
There are currently no toilets onsite. The closest toilets are located at Plough and Harrow.
Park rules
Shale Hills Dog Park is provided for the enjoyment of you and your dog(s). You are legally responsible for the actions of the dog(s) you bring to the park. To ensure the off-leash area remains a safe and fun environment for the community the following entry conditions apply:
- All dogs must be kept supervised and under control by a competent person over 16 years of age.
- Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- You must never leave your dog unattended in the park.
- Please clean up after your dog by using the bags and bins provided.
- Do not litter. Small items such as cigarette butts can be deadly to dogs.
- Do not allow your dog(s) to dig.
- Dogs must be on leash prior to entering and upon leaving the off-leash area.
- No more than four (4) dogs per person at any one time. All commercial activities must be approved by Western Sydney Parklands Trust.
- Dogs must be wearing a collar and name tag which includes your address/phone number.
- Dogs that are in season ('on heat') are prohibited from this area and should not be in the general park either.
- Dogs that are a registered breed and have been declared dangerous are prohibited from the off-leash area and the rest of the park.
- Dogs displaying signs of aggression are to be removed by the owner immediately.
- Your dog's vaccinations must be current or they could spread or pick up a contagious disease.
- Owners must comply with the responsibilities set out in the Companion Animals Act.
- The use of skateboards, bikes, roller blades, remote control devices or any other recreational activities of a similar nature are prohibited in the off-leash area.
On the spot fines may apply to any contravention of the Companion Animal Act or the Western Sydney Parklands Act and Regulation.
