The Crescent

A spectacular amphitheatre for major events

People enjoy a walk in a park, while a tall building stands prominently in the background, creating a city vibe.

This spectacular outdoor amphitheatre at the centre of Parramatta Park hosts concerts and events throughout the year, including Sydney Festival’s Sydney Symphony Under the Stars.

The Crescent is a natural amphitheatre that once framed a small billabong (waterhole) on the bank of the Parramatta River. It is a site of significance for its association with Aboriginal people and early colonial farmers and graziers.

The amphitheatre is next to Old Government House. Stairs connect The Crescent to the Boer War Memorial and historic Bath House.

Enter The Crescent through the George Street Gatehouse.
